As far as adjustable kettlebells go, this is an excellent model. First and foremost: the weight disks are secure. The locking system is reliable and there is very little movement or rattling when the item is in use. This is vital considering most kettlebell workout movements involve swinging. Secondly, the base is made from rubber, meaning it won't damage your floor if you put it down too hard. At $169 this kettlebell is a bit on the expensive side. That said, it is cheaper than buying the 2-3 standard cast iron units it would take to fulfill the same purpose. You could get plastic coated concrete filled kettlebells cheaper from Kmart but that is not really a fair comparison. I work out with free weights indoors, on tiles, in a converted family room. I don't have room for dumbbell racks or oversized equipment. The equipment I but must be relatively presentable (no chipped or rusted plates etc... as it is out where people can see it) and unlikely to damage my floor if I miss the mats. This Kettlebell is an excellent addition.
