The firepit is made of corten steel, a weathering steel that develops a rust patina. The Corten steel firepit does not come pre-weathered, but transforms after time spent outside.

The rust patina resists corrosion, requires no treatment or weather-proofing, and does not compromise the structural strength of the steel. Unlike raw steel, Corten steel is corrosion resistant due to its alloy composition - it will not show bubbling, flaking or peeling, which normally occurs with raw steel. Rather, a soft intended layer of rust blankets the steel with deep earthy tones and is why Corten is favoured among architects and artists. Corten steel is made from recycled content and is 100% recyclable.
