What makes Lescolton ® HPL different?

How does it work?

The Lescolton ® HPL 300,000 uses HPL™ (Home Pulsed Light) to remove unwanted body and facial hair. The process of laser and light-based hair removal is well known and established. HPL™ technology

HPL™ technology is able to achieve long-term hair removal results at a fraction of the energy level used in other light-based hair removal equipment. The low energy used in glide reduces its potential to cause harm or complications, and contributes to your overall safety. HPL™ technology is the technology of pulsed light hair removal is based on the theory of selective photothermolysis. In this method, the optical energy is used to block the growth of the hair. For this thermal effect, the hair shaft needs to selectively absorb light energy and transform it into heat. This selectivity is due to the fact that the high optical power applied to the tissue is primarily absorbed by the pigment of the hair shaft while the skin and surrounding tissue are cooled actively (by a cooling mechanism). The pigment in the hair shaft which is responsible for absorption of light which called melanin and generated heat which ultimately inhibits the growth of the hair.

Who can use it?

In general, light based hair removal is not suitable for naturally darker skin tones. The Lescolton ® HPL features a built-in skin colour sensor that measures the complexion and will only work on suitable skin tones. Whilst black and dark brown hair works best with the Lescolton ® HPL, lighter brown hairs also respond however they may need a few more treatments. Red, white, grey and blonde hair may show a response and will require more treatments.

Both men and women can use the Lescolton ® HPL. However, due to our biological differences, male hair may require a few more sessions to achieve the desired results.
