The leaf eater works well with a wide throat to let in leaves. The brushes on the bottom outer ring are there to scrape off mud etc. Unfortunately this makes pushing the leaf eater over the bottom of a pebble crete pool extremely difficult meaning you need to lift it onto the dirt for it to work. May be wheels. Other than that it is well made and does what it claims. G.
