You do not have to wind down the awning all the way. The gearbox system will keep a drop of the awning at any desired height. The bottom bar of the awning can be hooked by using a stainless still buckle and the fabric will be held by lightly tensioning it using a gearbox PLEASE NOTE: Heavy Duty Sunscreen fabric is very easy to maintain and does not fade.
