Switch Nutrition Essentials Citrulline Malate is a non-essential amino acid found in watermelons that may help boost your the bodies stores of Arginine. Citrulline Malate is 2 parts Citrulline and 1 part Malic Acid. This is the form commonly used by athletes as both parts have physiological benefits. Citrulline is commonly used for its vasodilating benefits by boosting Arginine which increases NO2 (nitric oxide). Citrulline also helps support the urea cycle (ammonia excretion), may boost exercise performance, and help promote muscle growth. Malic Acid or L-Malate is known to reduce fatigue and boost stamina by supporting the Kreb cycle. In one study of 41 individuals, participants that supplemented with Citrulline Malate were able to perform 53percent more repetitions. Even more impressive the supplement group who did 53percent more reps had 40percent less muscle soreness.
