How do I clean my Pipco Pads?

Simply toss your Pipco Pads into the washing machine and wash with hot water + detergent. Don't use bleach or fabric softener. After washing, hang pads on the laundry line to dry, or tumble dry on low heat only. Don't iron or dry clean.

Why can't I use bleach or fabric softener on these pads?

Bleach can deteriorate the material in the pads and make them less waterproof. Fabric softener leaves a residue on fabrics which makes them less absorbent. Vinegar is ok to use on the pads if you want to!

Do they smell?

No, they actually don't! The pads are made from materials that don't retain odours. After going through a hot wash cycle with detergent, the pads come out clean and fresh to the nose, over and over again.

Will they make my other laundry smell??

Rest assured that once the pads go through a full hot wash cycle, the pads and washing machine tub are both clean and won't contaminate your next load of washing! But do keep the pads and other laundry in separate loads.

Do I have to do laundry every day?!

You don't have to! (But you can if you want to?) Change out each pad as it becomes too soiled (at your discretion, depending on how much your doggie uses it). If you aren't washing the used pad straight away, just leave it loosely folded in a well ventilated area - e.g. in the corner of your balcony. You can collect a few pads over 2-3 days to make a bigger load of laundry to run.

Won't I be wasting water by starting the wash for just a few pads?

Many washing machines allow you to vary the amount of water filled into the tub. Adjust the water level according to the number of pads you're washing, so you only use what you need.

Can I hand-wash Pipco Pads?

We recommend machine-washing Pipco Pads, as the machine provides a thorough and deep clean that may be difficult to replicate by hand. It's also tricky to wring out all the water from the pads by hand, while the machine easily spins them almost dry!
