IJN Mitsubishi A6M2b (Model 21) Zero - Hiryu - Forces of Valor FOV-812030B (FV-812030B)
During the attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7th, 1941, Japan’s forces launched two waves using over three hundred fighters, bombers, and torpedo aircraft to carry out the attack and forced America into WWII. Among those aircraft were the A6M Zero-Sen from the Japanese aircraft carriers “Akagi”, “Kaga”, “Soryu”, Hiryu”, “Shokaku,” and the “Zuikaku”.
The A6M Zero-Sen aircraft took to the skies in April of 1939. A primary antagonist of the Allies while in the Pacific, the A6M was perhaps Japan’s most enduring symbol of their power and might during the course of WWII. The fighter was constructed with a lower monoplane wing and equipped with two 7.7mm guns and two powerful 20mm cannons. The Allied forces were only successful in taking down these impressive aircraft after capturing one and studying it for weaknesses. These planes were also used heavily during Kamikaze tactics.
