Check out the Hoya 49mm UV HMC Standard Filter's Key Features
(Hoya 599249)
OVERVIEW
The Hoya UV filter absorbs the ultraviolet rays which often makes outdoor photographs hazy and indistinct. A muliti-purpose fine-weather filter for color as well as black and white films. The UV filter is particularly recommended for outdoor work in the mountains, at the ocean, and in areas with very clear air. The contrasts are heightened, and distorting fog is avoided.
The UV filter is also suitable as protection from scratches, dirt and fingerprints, on the front of your lens. It can remain on the lens permanently, as it is colour-neutral. If a lens is scratched or damaged its replacement is costly, so replacing a UV filter is a lot more economical.
Hoya Standard HMC Filters offer both amateur and professional photographers HOYA's famous quality at reasonable prices. These popular filters are renowned for their ability to minimise reflection at the filter surfaces which reduces flare and ghosting. The result is an average light transmission of over 97%, giving sharp contrast and well balanced color. HOYA HMC filters are recommended for enhancing the performance of today's multicoated lenses.
