We have an extra firm Sleeping duck mattress which is a quality mattress however we also wanted a cloudlike feel with support. We purchased a pillowtop mattress topper elsewhere which was fluffy initially but flattened itself within a couple of weeks. I did not want to waste the topper, so I thought of trying out a gel, memory foam to go on top of the mattress but under the pillowtop topper. It has worked out wonderfully and we have a comfy Kingsize bed. I would advise getting a super king fitted sheet if you were to recreate this bed set up as it can increase to 20cm extra in height. There is a slight smell coming from the memory foam but that dissipates after a while. Would totally recommend to all and sundry.
