Castor oil is notably rich in ricinoleic acid, a compound found exclusively in the castor bean from which the oil is derived. This high concentration of fatty acid sets castor oil apart and is responsible for many of its healing properties.

Ricinoleic acid is recognised for its ability to reduce inflammatory responses by penetrating the skin and activating EP3 receptors within the body. These receptors are integral to the prostaglandin E3 pathway, which is key in regulating inflammation.

Our Organic Castor Oil is extracted from the seeds of the Ricinus communis plant. As a ricinoleic, monounsaturated fatty acid, it serves as both a humectant and a moisturiser. The oil is known for its thick and sticky consistency, making it unique in texture.

Our Organic Castor Oil is 100% Pure, Undiluted, and Unrefined (Virgin), with no hexane used in the production process, ensuring that it is Hexane Free. Castor oil is a vegetable oil (also known as a carrier or massage oil) obtained from the castor seed via the Cold Pressed extraction method and therefore Hexane-Free. This organically grown Castor oil is a pale-yellow thick liquid with a mild odour. It has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties and has been used for centuries for its therapeutic and medicinal benefits. Most of castor oil's benefits are believed to be derived from its high concentration of unsaturated fatty acids.

Apply a few drops to the desired area of skin and massage gently. For hair care, massage into the scalp for a deep conditioning treatment. This oil strengthens and conditions hair, reduces split ends, and promotes a healthy scalp. It can also be applied to the eye area by gently using it on your eyelashes and eyebrows with a brush.
