Evapolar evaCHILL Personal Evaporative Air Cooler and Humidifier, Portable Air Conditioner, Desktop Cooling Fan

I bought this hoping it would help during the summer to at least add to the cooling effect of a ceiling fan. However, it is an expensive ineffective experiment. I have it set up by my bed. Despite running the device non-stop (except for the refilling of the tank with cold water from the fridge) the room is no cooler than with just the ceiling fan. In fact, you cannot even feel the cool air from the device if you are more than 20cm away from the outlet and that is at the highest speed. Unless you are sitting directly in front of the fan - at a desk for example - this is a pretty useless fan much less an air cooler. I used to have a small simple fan even smaller than the Evapolar that was just a fan and it was more efficient than this. Yes I am in Sydney and it has been very hot on the couple of days since I received it and it has been a total disappointment. A waste of money.

Seems to work fine but have been unable to receive any answer from the company regarding registration for an 18 month warrantee.

Quite a good air conditioning device. Suitable for small spaces, great to be put on a table. A little work to keep filling the water especially during those hot days.

Split normal air conditioner is still much more convenient but if you have none then it will cool your office space at the desk.

Weather has not been hot enough in melbourne to really check this out. Maybe next week when temperatures are due to hit mid 30s!

Great compact size and works very well in cooling the room!
