Over two decades ago, Enduro Bearings introduced the MAX-type bearings specifically designed for bicycles, specifically addressing the challenges encountered in mountain bike pivots. These MAX-type bearings offer a substantial 35-40% increase in load capacity compared to standard radial bearings. Achieving this enhanced load capacity involves a unique design where the maximum number of balls are integrated into the bearing via a custom ground slot within the races. By employing additional balls and deep race grooves, these bearings offer robust lateral support, effectively managing the twisting and multi-directional forces commonly experienced in mountain bike pivots.
The MAX-type, Black-Oxide, ABEC-3 bearing features meticulously designed deep-groove races and Grade 10 balls. It incorporates full-contact, double-lip, labyrinth (LLU) seals to ensure superior protection against environmental elements. The bearing retains a 90% fill of Almagard extra high-pressure grease, while the Black-Oxide/Magnetite coating adds an extra layer of corrosion resistance, ensuring extended worry-free performance.
