More than two decades ago, Enduro Bearings introduced MAX-type bearings specifically tailored for bicycles, aimed at addressing the complexities associated with mountain bike pivots. These MAX-type bearings achieve a notable 35-40% increase in load capacity compared to standard radial bearings by employing a unique design. This design involves inserting the maximum number of balls into the bearing through a custom ground slot in the races. The extra balls, coupled with the deep race grooves, offer substantial lateral reinforcement, crucial for withstanding the twisting and multi-directional forces inherent in mountain bike pivots. This particular ABEC-3 bearing showcases deep-groove race design, employing Grade 10 balls and is filled to 90% capacity with Almagard extra high-pressure grease.

Notably, the single seal specification of this bearing is specifically intended for use with grease injection systems, such as those commonly found in the linkages of most Santa Cruz bikes.

Within the Enduro line of bearings, options encompass high-carbon chromium steel, 440C stainless steel, ceramic-hybrid, and XD-15 with ceramic or stainless balls. Our bearings are consistently engineered with the deepest possible race grooves to accommodate the largest balls available. Furthermore, they incorporate dual-lip seal maneuvering within micro-grooves, establishing a comprehensive labyrinth that ensures superior protection against various environmental elements.
