Many emu oil products on the market today have the words emu oil in large print, with cream appearing in very small type underneath. We think this is misleading - it means you might believe youre buying a bottle of pure emu oil to treat arthritis or psoriasis, when youre really getting a diluted emu oil product. If in doubt, read the label to make sure it says 100% emu oil.
Watch Out For Added Fragrances
Pure, fresh emu oil has no scent, so beware of anything claiming to be pure emu oil that has fragrances added, such as lavender. Its likely that the emu oil is old and the fragrance has been added to cover up the rancid oil smell.
