Effetto Chain Lube Drip Flower Power is a natural wax product that stands out from others like MSpeedWax and Silca hot melt. Unlike them, Flower Power Wax is made from sunflower seed and offers a unique waxing experience. If you want a drip lubricant to enhance your waxing routine, consider Silca Super Secret.
When using Flower Power wax, simply add it over Silca hot melt treatment for optimal results. Pre-prepped wax chain options are the most efficient way to achieve a super low friction ride, compared to the hassle of removing factory grease on your own. However, if you prefer, you can always put the Flower Power wax chain back into a pot of hot melt, though doing so multiple times with different wax types may affect the adherence of the hot melt to the chain.
How do I clean it? Is it environmentally friendly?
Flower Power Wax is known for its environmentally friendly nature, making it highly resistant to most solvents due to its wax composition. In the future, we may offer Effetto's own Alpine cleaner, but for now, Silca Bio Degreaser, which works well on waxes, can be used for periodic maintenance. Simply rinse with boiling water after cleaning.
How Flowerpower Wax works
Effetto Chain Lube Drip Flower Power natural wax creates a durable wax coating between the moving parts of the chain, reducing friction. This product is a water-based emulsion made of natural waxy compounds, with the perfect thickness to penetrate the chain links for optimal lubrication. After the water evaporates, a resilient layer of wax forms on the metal, providing a reliable anti-friction barrier.
The chain will not be dry to the touch – given the layer of wax that also protects the outside – but it will not be greasy or sticky and will not retain dirt.
First application
To prepare the chain for the first application of wax emulsion, thoroughly clean it to remove any oily residue. This will ensure optimal contact between the emulsion and the metal, resulting in a strong layer of wax. Our Allpine Extra degreaser, specifically designed for this purpose, along with the Mangiacatena chain cleaner equipped with rotating brushes, makes this process simple. No need to disassemble the chain. After rinsing and drying the chain, shake the Flowerpower Wax bottle and apply a drop of product onto each link. Slowly rotate the pedals (at least 10 complete revolutions) to allow the emulsion to penetrate inside. Let dry for 2-3 hours. For the first application, repeat the lubrication process described above. After another 2-3 hours, remove any excess wax with a cloth and you're ready to ride.
Successive applications
When your chain starts to make noise and accumulate kilometers, easily clean it with a dry cloth and apply a drop of Flowerpower Wax to each link. This wax has minimal dirt retention, allowing for continual lubrication without the need to degrease the chain. However, in muddy or sandy conditions, it is recommended to degrease the chain before proceeding with a deep lubrication using Flowerpower Wax. For regular use, we suggest lubricating the chain after cleaning the bike to keep it ready for your next ride.
High percentage of wax
There are significant variations among water-based wax emulsions. Unlike other products that contain only about 30%, Flowerpower Wax boasts a wax-to-water ratio of over 50% (by weight, after water evaporation). This results in a thicker anti-abrasion layer with the same amount of emulsion applied, providing greater durability and efficiency.

The natural wax extracted from sunflower seeds offers unique properties for cycling purposes. It boasts strong adhesion to metal and is highly water-resistant, ensuring long-lasting lubrication even in wet conditions like rain or accidental splashes (such as creek crossing). Without hazardous additives
The current formula of Flowerpower Wax maintains its purity by avoiding additives like PTFE, fluorinated compounds, graphene, and sulphides, ensuring the health and environmental safety of the product. It has undergone rigorous testing and has been approved by professionals in the field. The lubricating mix contains a blend of natural waxes, including sunflower seed wax, and is water-based without any added alcohol.
Format, tips for use and storage
All orders, excluding bikes, are dispatched within 24 business hours from our Darra Warehouse. Bikes will be dispatched within approximately 4-5 working days.
