Manjishtha:
Rubia Cordifolia (Indian Madder, Manjishtha) is best known as a blood purifier which is helpful for skin health and is also good for managing liver and spleen disorders, as well as gynecological blood disorders such as excessive bleeding and irregular bleeding. In Ayurveda, Manjistha has energetics which are bitter, astringent and sweet, with a hot potency, and a pungent post-digestion effect (PDE), with heavy and dry qualities. Manjistha balances Kapha and Pitta doshas. Part used: Root. Dosage 2-4g.
Sariva:
Hemidesmus Indicus (Sariva) is know for its effectiveness with skin disorders, such as pruritis, eczema and itching. Additionally Sariva is helpful in women's menstrual issues such as menorrhagia, and is also good for gut related issue such as Diarrhoea, it improves digestion, aids removal of toxins from the body, and helps in the treatment of urinary tract infections and related issues. In Ayurveda, Sariva has energetics which are sweet and bitter in taste, with a sweet potency, and a sweet post-digestive effect (PDE). With heavy and oily qualities, it balances all three Doshas. Part used: Root. Dosage: 1-3g.
Khadir:
Acacia Catechu (Khadir) is best known for its blood purifying qualities which is helpful in all kinds of skin disorders such as eczema, dermatitis psoriasis and vitiligo as well as aiding the removal of toxins from the gut. Khadir is also good for UTI issues and women's issues such as thrush and is helpful in the management of obesity. In Ayurveda, Khadir has energetics which are bitter and astringent, with a cold potency, it has a pungent post-digestive effect (PDE), with dry and light qualities. Khadir will help to balance Kapha and Pitta. Part used: Bark. Dosage 1-3g.
Amalaki:
Phyllanthus Emblica (Amalaki) is one of nature's richest sources of natural vitamin C, known for its antiaging qualities as well as being an excellent rejuvenator. Amalaki enhances the function of all bodily systems, making it one of the best herbs for boosting immunity. In Ayurveda, Amalaki has energetics with five tastes (sweet, sour, pungent, bitter and astringent) - all except salty, sour being the most dominant - it has a cold potency, and a sweet post-digestive effect (PDE), with heavy and cool qualities. Amalaki balances all three doshas.
Daruharidra:
Berberis Aristata (Indian Barberry, Daruharidra) is effective in the treatment and management of skin conditions and wound healing, for managing herpes infections, as well as supporting liver and spleen health. Daruharidra is also helpful with eye disorders, with managing menorrhagia and leucorrhoea and also helps to relieve spasmodic pain in the abdomen.
