P>About the Author: Laurie Brady is Professor of Education in the Faculty of Education at the University of Technology, Sydney. He lectures in the professional studies strand of the teacher education program, and has published books on planning for teaching, teaching methods, assessment and reporting, classroom management and teachers work. He is also the recipient of both a University and a National Teaching Award. Professor Kerry Kennedy started his professional life as a secondary teacher in New South Wales schools teaching English and History. After postgraduate study in both Australia and the United States, he worked in a number of Australian higher education institutions with interests in curriculum studies and citizenship education. Since 2001 he has worked at The Education University of Hong Kong. He is a Fellow of the Australian College of Educators and a Life Member of the Australian Curriculum Studies Association. In 2018 he was awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award by the Citizenship Identity and Citizenship Education European Association.
