Benefits of residual current devices (RCDs) are well documented and latest version of wiring rules (AS/NZS 3000:2018) makes it mandatory to have RCD protection for all final sub-circuits in residential applications. Amendment 2 of AS/NZS 3000:2018 makes it mandatory to have type A RCD (not type AC RCD) from May 2023 for additional safety. All RCDs under MAX9 range are future ready and already type A.
