CHOOK FORAGE MIX

Standard packet - 22+ gram packet / over 10,000 seeds

This is a mix of seeds suitable for growing as chicken forage, plants chosen are easy and fast growing and have good re-growth capability from foraging. Seeds include things like sunflower, buckwheat, celosia, amaranth, quinoa, fenugreek, silverbeet, chicory, linseed, millet, oats, wheat and triticale. Exact contents may vary depending on variety availability. Note this is for growing, do not feed these seeds directly to the chickens.

Broadcast the seeds over prepared bare soil, rake in and keep moist. Keep the chickens away until the plants establish. Once they have foraged the plants down, remove chickens to allow it to regrow. Seeds can also be sown in pots or trays and once established, periodically place in a chicken pen for grazing.

Cool to Temperate zones sow March - May or if you have cold winters sow August - October.

In subtropical zones sow August - September or May - July.

In tropical zones sow April - August.
