CHILLI Bishops Crown - 10 Seeds

The Bishops Crown chilli is an amazing chilli from Barbados. They are also known as 'Fryers Hat' or 'Monk's Hat'.

The plant grows well in a pot to 1.2 metre high. The branches were dropping from the weight of the fruit. It produces hundreds of three-sided peppers which resemble a Bishop's Crown. Size-wise the pods are 3-4 cm long and 5-7 cm wide and mature from light green to orange, to red.

They are excellent stuffed with cheese and grilled, in salads, on top of cheese or just as a healthy snack.

All in all, it is one of the best-producing chillies, it looks stunning and the pods taste sweet and fruity. We can only recommend growing this great chilli - a must for all home gardeners.

Mature chilli reach between 5,000 and 30,000 Scoville. Their pods, in the shape of a Catholic bishop's cap, are rather mild than medium-hot. How much the pods burn depends on the plant, the location and the growing conditions. Compared to Jalapenos, Bishops Crown Chillies usually burn much less in the mouth. But be careful: this can vary from fruit to fruit. In our opinion, the degree of sharpness is 3 - 5.

In addition to the pleasant spiciness, the sweet and fruity taste is convincing. A sour paprika aroma makes Bishops Crown Chili perfect for seasoning vegetables and salads.

Care & Growing Instructions: Germination temperature is between 20oC and 28oC (germination period: 8-21 days); it is therefore recommended to use a greenhouse and a heating mat. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil, and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more. Put the plants outside approx. 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost.

To be eligible for a return, your item must remain unused and in the same condition at which you received it. Additionally, it should retain its original packaging.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept exchanges or refunds on perishable items unless they are damaged.

For optimal satisfaction, you can return or exchange your purchase within 30 days of receiving it.

If you need to cancel an order you haven't picked up within 2 weeks after first delivery attempt, we'll need to charge a 20% restocking fee based on the seed value. Once we receive your mail order back, we will process the refund, minus the 20% restocking fees. Unfortunately, we won't be able to refund the postage, though.

If the buyer wants to change his/her mind, then the cost of returning the order will be covered by the buyer.

At Happy Valley Seeds, we are more than happy to cover the cost of return shipping for any damaged goods.
