Native to North America, Black Spruce belongs to the pine family, which is where its characteristic fragrance comes from. The oil itself is derived from the needles and branches of the Black Spruce tree through a careful method of steam-distillation.

Black Spruce Oil is perhaps most often used to treat respiratory conditions. Its combination of anti-inflammatory, analgesic and expectorant properties make it useful for comforting a sore throat and clearing mucus and congestion. It is thought to be effective for the treatment of bronchitis, asthma, coughs, colds and the flu.

Known to induce feelings of harmony and balance, Black Spruce Essential Oil contains the chemical component bornyl acetate, which is recognised for its ability to promote deep relaxation and a greater sense of calm.
