Babel DVD

A tale of interlinking multiple protagonists flows across several countries, and like a butterfly's wing causing an earthquake on the other side of the world, we see how small events in one place can have connections and create coincidences elsewhere, in supposedly unrelated situations. Deep in the Moroccan desert far from the usual tourist routes, a rifle is fired, beginning a chain of events that link an American tourist couple's (Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett) dire life and death challenge, with two Moroccan boys involved in an accidental crime. Strangely enough, a nanny illegally crossing into Mexico with two American children, and a rebellious Japanese teenage girl whose father is sought by the Tokyo police fit into the tale. Spanning different 'worlds' within our one planet, each of these four groups of people are inextricably tied to one another in a shared destiny that is far-removed from their ideal lives.
