This beautiful wooden toy version is a great way to teach little ones about counting, colours, patterns and more. The Abacus can also be called a counting frame. It was originally used as a calculating tool. The Abacus was originally made from stones or beans and they were moved in grooves in sand or on tables of wood, stone or metal. Schools also use abacus not only for hand eye coordination but also for counting. Instead of using a calculator abacus can also be used to help with counting and teaching those of a young age numbers. The Abacus is also used by some people who are unable to use a calculator because of visual impairment.
