This kit solves the problem caused by the fact that reported soil pH values are significantly method dependent – i.e. different methods give results that vary by 0.5 – 2 pH units from each other. Thus soil pH values obtained from different sources are usually not comparable. Consequently, tables of recommended soil pH values for particular plant species must be interpreted with caution. • Uses 21st century universally recognised & preferred* soil pH method chemistry based on a calcium chloride extract e.g. CSIRO, ASTM, Vic & NSW Govts*.  Current popular brands are still only based on 1959, Raupach’s / CSIRO rapid field test method for testing soil pH.
