A wry Australian comedy centred on a successful husband and wife who move from Melbourne to Sydney in search of fame and fortune but encounter a world of hustlers and opportunists. John Hargreaves (Don's Party) stars as a prosperous screenwriter willing to accept the big money for mainstream films, but who fails in his attempt to produce a film of meaning and value. When Colin accepts work as a writer on a TV show, he soon enters an affair with Helen (Nicole Kidman), the girlfriend of another writer (Chris Haywood - Jindabyne), capping his downward spiral in the Emerald City.
