The luxe trend doesn’t have to look gaudy, in fact, it can look very calm and muted. Real Diamonds, They Must Be Worth Their Weight In Gold
Speaking of luxe, all things gold and silver is continuing to dominate the interior trend scene. Now, you don’t have to dip your home into dripping gold, that would just be tacky. Instead, you can paint a feature wall a muted shade of gold, or complete your bathroom with some silver finishes. You could even take a leaf out of the Rainbow Fish, and add a pop of gold or silver tile amongst muted, nude shades in your bathroom, giving it a pop of life and luxe. Hang up some fairy lights outside, adding ambience to your backyard and paying homage to the trend all at once. The options are endless, and they don’t have to look like they’re cheap or tacky. A prediction for interior design this winter is making use of round spaces. Think of the 1968 film, The Party, the interior was at the height of fashion. Well, get out of your time machine because those carpet-lined sunken spaces are the perfect way to use empty space. Now, of course, you don’t have to use carpet (that’s so dated), but you can create one from wood, and decorate the space with scattered cushions, throw rugs and even feature painted steps to add some life to an already exciting room. If you’re planning on adding extra oomph to the already oomphy space, why not delve into the colours of the year? Whether they be Pantone’s or Dulux’s (Greenery and Denim Drift), you’ll experience pure luxury and be at the height of fashion. This trend has taken its time to come back into fashion, but it’s a timeless piece that can add suave and cool styles to any home. I can tell you that a conversation pit makes your home 10x cooler. Get Your Green On
It’s no secret that the Millennial pink trend was just a phase (thank goodness), but now it’s time to prepare for a whole new colour to overload your senses: green. Jewel tones, which include purples, navy blues and greens are the next big thing, and these colours will soon be absolutely everywhere. What’s great about these colours is that they’re forgiving, unlike the pink and blue pastels we saw in 2016. What’s great about green brings the next big thing in interior design, it can be incorporated into your home in any place, in any way. You don’t have to paint an entire wall green to make a statement, you can instead introduce a room divider into the space, or inject the jewel tones with a bedspread. The options are endless, and this colour combination doesn’t look tacky or too trendy; it looks sophisticated and classic.
