Marc Jacobs was born in New York City on April 9, 1963. Jacobs was always focused on this dream of becoming a powerful designer. When he was 15 years of age he attended the High School of Art and Design. After school he took a part time job at an upscale clothing boutique called Charivari. The staff allowed the talented boy to design sweaters for the store in between his other daily duties. This work helped him immensely to land a spot at the Parson’s School of Design later. After graduating from the High School of Art and Design in 1981 he entered Parson’s School of Design. In 1984 Jacobs designed his first collection with the Marc Jacobs label.
