Entanglements - Maria Katrakis

Reading Marias poems is like going on a journey, a journey through life with all its varied dimensions - dimensions, however, where the threads of life are all entangled together. These dimensions range from the political, through lessons from art, relationships, parenthood, to death - but all are, in a sense, a part of the same journey through life, which is a journey through discovery, and eventually a journey to spiritual fulfilment. Like Maria and the seal in her poem A Wilderness Seal, we are all caught up in natures cycle, all part of and entangled in the same cosmos that the she discovered and understood so well in the spiritual journey of her art.
