Enduro Bearings introduced MAX-type bearings two decades ago specifically for bicycles to tackle the challenges linked with mountain bike pivots. These MAX-type bearings deliver a 35-40% boost in load capacity compared to standard radial bearings, achieved by integrating a specialized design that maximizes the number of balls within the bearing via a custom ground slot in the races. The additional balls, alongside deep race grooves, offer substantial lateral support, countering the twisting and multi-directional forces related to mountain bike pivots. Featuring ABEC-3 precision, this bearing boasts deep-groove design races, Grade 10 balls, and full-contact, double-lip, labyrinth (LLU) seals ensuring utmost protection against environmental elements, while preserving a 90% fill of Almagard extra high-pressure grease.
This radial bearing serves as a pivot bearing in certain older full-suspension bikes such as Kona Stinky, GT RTS, and selected models from Trek and Scott.
Within the Enduro line, a range of materials like high-carbon chromium steel, 440C stainless steel, ceramic-hybrid, and XD-15 with ceramic or stainless balls are available. Our bearings are consistently engineered with the deepest groove races feasible, accommodating the largest balls and equipped with dual-lip seals, situated within micro-grooves, establishing an all-inclusive labyrinth to ensure superior protection against external elements.
